Issues facing women in the criminal justice system

The Novas Scarman group is holding free South West regional seminars for voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations focussing on the recommendations arising from the Corston Report, and the VCS role in taking these forward.
These events will be a chance to share your views and experiences on issues for women, including:
- How can the health needs of women offenders and women at risk of offending be addressed more effectively?
- What would women centred models for addressing offending behaviour look like?
- What can be done to tackle barriers to mainstream services?
- What strengths and expertise does the VCS bring to the development of this work?
- Frontline and senior staff welcome
- Travel expenses available for Organisations with turnover with less than £500k
- A chance to network with other VCS providers
Recommendations from these seminars will be reported to SW National Offender Management Service and VCS providers to help inform policy development and commissioning plans.
