About Novas Languages

As a viable social enterprise within the Novas Scarman Group, Novas Languages has much to offer:

  • A fantastic track record in providing translation and interpreting services to the public sector in Liverpool, Merseyside and other parts of the North West
  • Innovation and continuous improvement, as proven in the:

- Introduction of an online booking service.
- Exploration of the potential of interpreting
through
video conferencing and other technologies
- Breaking through the Language Barriers project
which produced a welcome and reception pack and
CD-ROM.

  • Extensive knowledge and partnerships with local organisations, training providers and community groups
  • Commitment to reinvest any operational surplus back into the area and into social benefits for disadvantaged groups
  • Commitment to developing work and learning opportunities for Black and other Minority Ethnic communities and other disadvantaged groups
  • Commitment to promoting sustainability through working with local interpreters, translators and other suppliers, and exploring ways of reducing unnecessary travel to appointments and duplication of effort
  • Passion to do things differently as a social enterprise rather than simply a private business.
  • Enthusiasm for measuring the businesses impact as a social enterprise and specifically the impact of services on our customers, patients and other service users.

In its first year of trading as a social enterprise Novas Languages reinvested its operational surplus in the development of local Black and Minority Ethnic communities.

Novas Languages is currently investing in a new database and online booking service that offers significant improvements and efficiency savings to customers. The project has accommodated the monitoring and quality assurance standards required to meet the specification of local NHS procurement team.
