Limitation (noun)
1 (often limitations) a limiting rule or circumstance; a restriction.

Through Limitations Raimi will show what happens when limitations are challenged. He will interrogate the private and public space, questioning the role of the gallery as a site and as a response to the limitations of that space. He will also perform two talks about limitations and social barriers, and at each of these, a multiple will be made available
About the Artist
Raimi Gbadamosi is an artist, writer and curator. He received his Doctorate in Fine Art from the Slade School of Fine Art. He is a member of the Interdisciplinary Research Group 'Afroeuropeans', University of Leon, Spain, and the 'Black Body' group, Goldsmiths College, London.
Recent national and international shows and events include: ARCO Madrid 2009; Tentativa De Agotar Un Lugar Africano, CASM, Barcelona 2008; Human Cargo, Plymouth Museum & Art Gallery, Plymouth 2007; Port City, Arnolfini, Bristol 2007.
Media work includes multiples, music, websites, writing and audience participation. Works creates debate, instead of representing preconceived concerns defined by specific social, cultural and political content.
For his solo exhibition at the CUC Art Gallery, as part of the London Bridge Festival, the artist Raimi Gbadamosi is producing a site-specific installation.
His work investigates the complexity of social and cultural politics by challenging views on ethnicity, race and language. In this exhibition Raimi scrutinises limitations in contemporary society, which surface at the point of social and political contact. It is important to push towards the limits of one’s society, challenging implied consent to restrictions within a democracy, convincingly constructed as addressing a threat posed by another.
