  • Dual Diagnosis Team - Includes Dependency, Mental
Health and Homeless Services. Along with a new
Floating Support Service for female heavy

    are alcohol dependent.
  • Floating Support - This provides floating support
to help people sustain their independence. The
service supports areas of mental health,

    community and tenancy containment.

Offender Services

  • Probation Floating Support - provides floating
support to customers with an offending background.
We assist with independent living, resettlement and
    tenancy containment.
  • Intensive Floating Support - this provides
floating support to customers with a prolific
offending background. People are referred to Novas Scarman
exclusively from the probation service. Again, we
offer support with independent living, resettlement
    and tenancy sustainment.
  • Ashfields Court This service is for young people
aged 16-24 years wishing to build their confidence,
life skills, communication skills and overall
    independence.

Specialist work with homeless young offenders with mental health support needs

John, aged 18, suffers with a severe mental illness and has been homeless. His Probation Officer referred him to Novas Scarman’s Wirral Offenders Scheme; all other providers refused to accept him as he has previous convictions for arson and violence.

John was offered a tenancy with an approved private landlord on the basis that he complied with all the support Novas Scarman would provide.

John is still receiving support from Novas and is due to be re-housed by the local authority.
He is showing that even those with high risk offending issues can turn their lives around when given the chance for stability and are able to address the underlying factors of their offending history.
