Floating Support

Bringing targeted and flexible support to over 2,000 people of all ages each year, wherever they may be located, the Novas Scarman Group is a leading provider of floating support services across the country.

The major benefit of our floating support services is the flexibility they give in responding to individual needs. Floating support services are not tied to accommodation but can instead follow a person as they move between locations. For example, from a hostel into their own tenancy, or from supported accommodation to a private rented tenancy.

To ensure a high take-up of our floating support services, Novas Scarman's staff support customers by meeting them in a location that suits them best. This may be in a drop-in centre, their home, a local café, the offices of another agency, or any convenient and safe place.

People who use our floating support services may be assisted to attend health appointments, receive support to move into their own tenancy for the first time, or be encouraged to engage with other agencies. The great strength of this service is that it enables customers to develop and maintain independent living by empowering them to make informed choices about how and where they want to live.

The quality of the Group's floating support services is well recognised, with many local authorities actively requesting Novas Scarman to develop new services.
